MID-WEEK BLOG #1 ... October 2, 2018

What Is Happening?

Today I begin a new weekly post called Mid-Week Blog. Simply, it will discuss three things:

   1. Things Happening in Our Lives

2.Things Happening in Our Mission Efforts

3.Things Happening in Our Future Plans

PAST >>> We left Florida in July of 2017 to become part of SEND Phoenix Church Planting Team under the North American Mission Board (NAMB). We then arrived in Phoenix in early August securing an apartment later in the month. We went through the NAMB SEND Assessment Retreat in early October. At that time our planting pastor/mentor became gravely ill and it put us in a very hard position. Circumstances then led to a returning to Florida in March. Just the other day, I told my family that we've been back in Florida the same amount of time as we were in Phoenix. So time really flies.

PRESENT >>> We've been seeking the Lord as to what turn we should make next. In our seeking, we found a church in one of the areas that our hearts have been drawn to on the Atlantic coast of Central Florida. The church has already planted a number of churches over the past 50 years in the area and they have stepped up their efforts in church planting as this area of the Space Coast is experience expansive growth. Just over a month ago, Kathy and I have become involved with the NAMB SEND PipeLine for Church Planting (the same one we tried to hard to get on in Arizona) and we are involved in a small group involved in this process. You can explore their website to see their heart for the Mission of Church Planting. This current module will take us until April to complete. During the time of working through the PipeLine, Kathy and I asking God to make clear His timing and place for a new church plant.

FUTURE >>> That is still coming! And we will share more as we know more!

PRAYER NEEDS:
  >> PT or FT work in the Melbourne, Palm Bay, Sebastian area
  >> Affordable Housing to not only be what we need but what we can use for Missional            efforts
  >> A clear, unmistakable section of the city of Melbourne, or the surrounding area to               church plant

Lobstah!

Check this out! Found this on Yahoo! They say to buy and eat this big boy it would've cost you over $100. Here's the picture and story: Jan. 10: Neil Robinson, of Portsmouth N.H., carries a 140-year-old, 20-pound lobster onto the rocks in Kennebunkport, Maine, to be released. The lobster was confined to a tank at a New York City seafood restaurant for about 10 days until the restaurant had a change of heart and agreed to let People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals return the lucky lobster, named George, to Kennebunkport, where he was be released back into the sea.

On Hold

I kinda feel my life is on hold. I was given walking papers on my job of nearly 10 years in February and I used the time off unwisely. I made detailed lists of things to do around the house and to this day may a third of those have been completed. I waited a few months before taking action toward reemployment as February, March, April and May had visitors dropping by. Most importantly some were family we hadn't seen in many years. And the ones who weren't family members were very close friends that felt to us like family. First there was a newly wed couple from our home town in New Hampshire. He was a new acquaintance for us while she was a close friend whom we discipled in her spiritual walk since 1979. Her husband passed a few years ago and now she remarried. The next was my wife's older sister and her husband. We usually see them every time they come to Florida from New Hampshire as their daughter lives near Tampa. We are all getting older so it's good to reconnect w...

Monday Morning Blog 4-4-2011

Woke to a cool dry morning and drove family to destinations, visited with a neighbor then Kathy and I got ready to drive to Bristol for her ladies gathering at AGF at 10am. As we went outdoors the cool dry morning was now changed to a snowy, windy colder late morning. It's nearly noon now and the snow seemingly is ready to turn to rain. I am reminded that we are in Northern New England. Weather we can't control, mind input we can. As I write, I am at a public diner where I had a nice breakfast and I'm still sipping coffee. There is activity all over the place here. People coming and going, oldies playing on the radio, phones ringing and even a bit ago some of the staff were chasing a loose dog around (who was finally lured into the office by the owner!). In similiar situations like this, I recall times when people and conversations I heard could cause my mind to wander ... drift toward unhealthy thinking for a Christ-follower. Paul exhorted the Philippian believers to ...
