Today's GO TO Verses ... In my time today with Jesus sipping my coffee I was impressed with the following Scriptures: Psalm 119:25 "My soul clings to the dust; revive me according to Your Word"  and Isaiah 44:6 "Thus says the Lord, 'I am the First and the Last; besides Me there is no God'" Psalm 119 is the great chapter in the Bible that is centered around the Word of God. The Lord in His great wisdom utilized a myriad of words describing the Scriptures in these hundred plus verses found in chapter 119. Words like, testimonies , decrees , statutes , laws , commands , precepts are just a few that are used. They mean essentially the same thing in the context of this chapter, but the variety of terms used make the teaching come alive and more vibrant. In fact, teachers through the ages have used this method in getting across their message. Repetition without boredom, you might say. When I give a Bible teaching, I prepare by using a valuable tool on

COUNT ON IT! You can count on it. That's right. I am talking about PRAYER and how God answers. In the past month I have seen God take my cries out to Him and pour out all heaven to answer me. But I had to learn an important lesson as I share this Monday Morning Blog Feb 27th edition: God answers HIS WAY. You see, as I have had my prayer life renewed recently, I was experiencing answered prayer as never before. At times God would answer me while I am in the very Throne Room with the Almighty! But just last week my prayer "cloud nine" bubble was burst. God did not answer as I had requested. He did answer just not my way. Ouch. For weeks on in He was pouring out His heavenly blessing. Then this. Crushed, I went into a temporary funk. I say that because my go to Scripture lately has been 1 Thessalonians 5:17 "Don't stop praying"! I'm not going to say I stopped praying but my Faith-Life Praying attitude was a bit altered. I couldn't handle the see

KAT.BLOG It's coming up to 10 years since the day my dear wife of 30 years (at that time) slumped over the living room chair and fell to the floor while trying to go to the bathroom. Unknown to me, she slept in the recliner that Saturday night and woke Sunday morning with left side weakness. She had had a right side carotid artery dissection that resulted in a lack of oxygen in the right side of her brain. It was the result of a jarring to her head by a fall she had earlier in the weekend. When the MRI result returned the Dr. announced that Kathy had a "Major Stroke". Of course, our many friends wanted to know more and more about Kat's condition, but being with her at the major medical center about an hour away in Lebanon, NH (Dartmouth-Hitchcock) and later the rehab facility also an hour away in the other direction in Concord, NH (HealthSouth), it would be exhausting to keep rehearsing with new people the ongoing story ... so I started a blog. The decision t

Monday Morning Blog ... MONDAY MORNING QUARTERBACK!!! Happily, I have no Monday Morning Quarterback comments. The team I've followed since they wore red and white uniforms with a small minute man in a hiking position on their helmets just won their 5th Super Bowl title. And they did it breaking records again. The greatest comeback being down over 20 points ... the only overtime Super Bowl game ... they never led in the game until they won in the overtime touchdown ... and the unanswered points came mostly in the final quarter and few minutes in overtime.  I am a New Englander living in Florida. For most of my life, I lived in New Hampshire, along with about 2 years in Vermont and 7 years in Maine. Admittedly, I spent 2 summers in the Adirondacks in NY as a kitchen worker in a camp as well as 5 years in the DC area in college. Oh, I also was born and got married in Massachusetts. My roots are in New England. In the sports world, I've been a Boston teams fan. I've see

RENEWAL - REVIVAL - RESTORATION

For a few weeks I've missed my MMB entries for a variety of reasons but felt led to give an update this Thursday morning. The title tells it all. I have been immersed in the Word and convinced my life of prayer and daily walk with Christ needed an adjustment. Wow! What an impact this has had. I will not go into any details here and now but I want you to realize I have seen a personal life impact by this decision. My prayer life (as evidenced by my prayer journal) has clear detailed answers from the Almighty - not just one or two entries but MULTIPLE ONES! Allow me to encourage you!  Do not be satisfied with the inferior when the Lord God has for you the SUPERIOR! My life and walk with my God has been impacted so much that the three words of this title post are more real to me today than ever before. This week has been so exciting to me. I look forward to my daily impact with Christ as I converse with Him and He with me. And ... in sharing with my dear Kat -- she too ha

MMB .... IS BACK! Happy 2017

Greetings ... welcome 2017. The new year came fast. 2016 is now gone ==> goodbye. After a few weeks of a holiday-type break, I am returning to the weekly posting I call MONDAY MORNING BLOG. Can you imagine that 2017 has come in with such a vengence. The results of the 2016 election still top the news. The President-Elect's tweets are still causing a stir. The weather has been crippling in much of the nation. The acts of world-wide terror continue. And the NFL Play-offs have eliminated some would-be hopefuls to go all the way. Just think ... today is only the 9th day of the New Year! Last Friday was the Epiphany (our tree is still up and lit - it's so beautiful). Today the news is filled with the up and coming Cabinet confirmation hearings. The battle lines are being drawn. We've already forgotten Peace on Earth -- Goodwill to Men we spoke and sang about just 2 weeks ago. Yup. 2017 is here. And it's already proving to be a year of controversy. As America moves
