UPDATE: NorthPoint Network >>> LifeJourney Connection >>> CHANGES AHEAD!

My heart has been forever changed when I began to view the Mission of Jesus as our Mission. No longer was church a place you attend ... it was a life you lead! A very vital verse in Isaiah was the Scripture God used to transform my thinking toward the mission: Isaiah 43:18-19 (ESV) "Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." In the weeks and months ahead I want to share right here what Kat and I see God is doing in and through us and the mission God has us in. In 2005, the Missional Network concept was born in my heart. I shared it with Kathy and it began to develop in her, too. In 2006, Sunday Night Connection gatherings began in Rumney. The Home Church idea began to strengthen us toward a Network of like groups. The concepts are being presented in our 2 other blogs which are to become one and fully revamped exp...

Adventures in the South

On July 29th following AGF worship, Kathy and I drove south in our 2003 Caravan with 180,000 miles! It was about 12:30pm and we took a break about 4 hrs later very near the Tappen Zee Bridge. By midnight we were in the DC area and at around 4am we stopped for a short sleep at the NC Welcome Center. Now before all the drama that surrounded Chick-fil-A, I told Kat that it would be really nice to try one out as they are few and far between up north. We found the best of all at around 7am in Roanoke Rapids, NC where the was a Chick-fil-A next to a Starbucks Coffee in front of a Walmart off I-95! We both had a nice breakfast sandwich, I enjoyed a cup of coffee and a stop at the Super Center yielded the item I needed to keep our cell phones charged. Great stop! Now onto Savannah, GA!  Old Savannah We arrived in Georgia about 2pm. We had a room booked at the Savannah HIExpress. This was Monday July 30. So we had supper and just relaxed ... showering and enjoying the A/C a...

I Read Pete Wilson's Blog with GREAT INTEREST

Pete Wilson in Franklin, TN wrote this on his blog: There’s an article in the July issue of  Church Executive  that just came out last week entitled “Who Speaks Up?” I was skimming the article nodding along with most of what the author was saying until I saw my name. Then all of the sudden it became personal and I stopped to reflect. Ron Keener wrote, “I have to wonder: Who speaks for the church now? Billy Graham is 94 in November and we miss his presence in the pulpit. Franklin Graham has a strong message but his attention is rightfully overseas and focused on the parachurch. When CNN’s Larry King wanted a point of view from the evangelical church he went to Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson, as if either of them really spoke for the church-at-large. Occasionally John McArthur, now 72, showed up at the “Kings Table,” and one or two other well-known preachers. Many of the best speakers for the faith, and for the church in the world, keep busy with their own congreg...

stuck ...

I've waited much too long to post anything. I am waiting no longer. I must say, though ... I FEEL STUCK ... I was reminded of something while reading 1 Kings 18, the account of Elijah and the Baal worshipers. In verse 21 Elijah confronts the Baal crowd and asks a question, "How long will you falter between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him." These words remind me that we, too, falter between two opinions ... God's and those silly voices in the head that try to talk us away from following God -- EVERY MOMENT and IN EVERY WAY. Of course, God's way is perfect, honorable, righteous and good. And ours ... well ... you know! Lately I've recommitted myself to early rising, early reading and early prayer. I have found in these times of my life, I am able to war off those opinions in my head and want to -- even desire to follow God's Word fully. I've been saddened, while reading through the Kings, to read of many of I...

"THE CHALLENGE" Monday Morning Blog - 10/3/2011

Eggs, cheese, bacon, home fries and toast are on order. I'm sipping a cup of dark roast as I write. My mind and heart are full (unlike my stomach).I mean that my God has been filling my heart and mind with deep issues of life that are causing me to be challenged. It is necessary I make changes and choices that coincide with what I am being confronted with. All too often I read the Scriptures and see the words but they are or become distant. I leave the words in the closed book when I am expected to make them part of who I am (or am to become). For example, the 1st ten chapters of Acts are extremely full of confronting issues that are there to challenge my heart with deep spiritual issues. I will simply point out one. I am a spiritual being (because of Christ in me) but I live in the natural realm. Acts chapters 1-10 reveal many Christ followers who experienced God's amazing power ... all because they were seeking, craving, living in the strength of the Holy Spirit. They, too ...
